In 2009, 15 of Chapman's 21 games were played against MCLA Top 25 Teams.

Chapman Started the 2009 season ranked #1 in the MCLA. After a close loss to #2 Michigan and #4 BYU, Chapman hovered at #4 for the rest of the season and entered the national Championship Tournament in Denver at #3.

In the first round of the tournament Chapman beat Colorado State 9-8. In the Quarter Finals Chapman played Simon Frasier and won 15-14 in over time. In the Semi Finals Chapman played BYU and avenged their prior loss by winning 10-9 in overtime which sent the team to the National Championship for the second year in a row to face the University of Michigan, again.

Chapman dominated in the first half 8-4. By fourth quarter the team was slowing down and Michigan keep going at a steady pace, in the end out scoring Chapman and winning 12-11.

In the last two years Michigan has gone 40-0 and Chapman 37-5, the first and second best records in the MCLA for 2008 & 2009. Do notice that Chapman played two more games, who's counting anyway.......
